Protein: nutrient needed to rebuild body cells
Complex Carbohydrate: Process slowly, found in large bunches, whole grains and vegetables.
Simple Carbohydrate: Process quickly, usually found in candies, soda and white bread/rice
Unsaturated Fats: fats that are liquid at room temperature (olive oil, seed oil, nuts)
Saturated Fats: Fats that are solid at room temperature (animal fat, butter, milk)
Nutrient Dense: when a food has little fat/calories/sugar but has a high amount of vitamins and minerals
Calorie Dense: When a food has high fat/calories/sugar but little to no vitamins/minerals

Your Son/Daughter is going to have to use their knowledge and skill to cook a meal at home.
They will need to document their cooking with pictures or for extra credit they can use video. They will need to be visible in all parts of the prepping and cooking. Parents can help but it should be very minimal.
All of the food groups are going to have to represented and must be healthy sources.
