All About Me...

My name is Ms. Christy Koszela and I am very excited to be your child’s teacher. I have been teaching at Walsh School since 2001.  I look forward to working with you and your child this year! There is an exciting year awaiting, designed to promote and enhance your child’s growth and development. These very important years promise to be ones filled with discovery and joy as your child works and plays. I will provide an environment that is warm, nurturing, safe and engaging.

The structure of daily activities is carefully planned to encourage independence, self-confidence and group cooperation through a variety of hands-on, interactive experiences. The activities presented will incorporate instruction and skill reinforcement in reading readiness, pre-mathematics skills, science discovery, social studies, art, fine and gross motor skills, technology, executive function, social/emotional skills and language development.

You will notice that the focus of the pre-school curriculum is centered on thematic units and related selections of literature. This is the core of our integrated learning and these units of study will be used to extend across, and connect all of our content areas. In doing so, your child will be immersed in learning and the application of skills will become more concrete. Learning will be real and learning will make sense! Students will be introduced to district phonics and math programs at the pre-school level too.

I am looking forward to working together to make this a successful school year! Please feel free to contact me at school, should you have any questions and/or concerns regarding your child‘s pre-school experience.

Very Sincerely,

Ms. Christy Koszela
