Here is what the students will be working on the first few weeks of school...

English/Language Arts:  We will be starting CKLA Skills 1- Back to School: Basic Code Review & CKLA Knowledge 1 – Fortune and Feats: Fairy Tales and Tall Tales

Spelling:  The first spelling list will not be given out until Skills 1, Lesson 11.

Math:  We will be starting Unit 1 – Figure the Facts.

Social Studies:  We will be starting Unit 2 – The World Around Us.

Each day, the students should practice reading for at least 15 minutes.  At times, the students will be bringing home short reading passages to practice reading.  These do not need to be returned to school.  The students may also bring home a worksheet from time to time.  Please have your child complete and return any papers marked “Homework” to school the next day. 

August 19:  First Day of School

September 7:  Labor Day – No School

* If your child ever needs to go home from school in a different way than usual, please notify the office of any changes.  The office will inform me of any changes in dismissal.

* The students need to bring a couple of good books from home to keep in their desks for silent reading time.  They can rotate books from home as needed.

* Please remember to bring your yellow folder and charged iPad to school each day.
