Here is what the students will be working on next week...
English/Language Arts: We will be working on end of year activities.
Spelling: The last spelling test was given on Monday, May 18th.
Math: We will be reviewing second grade math topics.
Homework
Each day, the students should practice reading for at least 20 minutes and practice their spelling words. At times, the students will be bringing home short reading passages to practice reading. These do not need to be returned to school. The students may also bring home a worksheet from time to time. Please have your child complete and return any papers marked “Homework” to school the next day.

* Please have your child bring his or her fully -charged iPad and school- issued charger to school to be collected on May 26th.
* Our field trip is on Thursday, May 28th. Students and chaperones need to bring a lunch and drink in disposable containers to be eaten at the farm. Also, please make sure your child wears gym shoes and dresses for the weather as we will be outside.
* We will be cleaning out desks and lockers on Wednesday, May 27th. You may want to have your child bring an extra bag to school to hold all of this year’s supplies.
* The students will be getting math and reading packets to work on for fun over the summer. These are for you to keep. Please encourage your child to read, write and work on these activities over the summer to help retain skills learned in second grade.
*On Friday, May 29th, the students will be receiving their second grade memory books. We will be signing autographs in these books on the last day of school. Students can bring a pen to school to use for signing.
