The kindergarten classrooms each have their own theme to help students identify their class/ teacher. Our class is the flower room. Students will receive backpack tags with a flower icon and my name on it. These go on your child's backpack so that staff can quickly identify who's class they are in and ensure they reach me. They will also have name tags for the first 2 weeks that have the same flower on them, for the same reason.
Every Friday I will email home of class newsletter. In there you will find information about what we did that week and what we will be doing in the coming week. Any important dates and information will also be shared there.

We will be using a ticket system to encourage positive behavior in the classroom. Students can earn a ticket for showing expected behavior and they can loose a ticket for showing unexpected behavior. Students who have 10 tickets on Friday can trade those in for a prize from our classroom treasure chest.
** If you have any small "like new" toys (such as wrapped McDonalds Toys) that you do not want anymore, our class would love to have them to stock our treasure chest!
We are blessed to have a bathroom in our classroom! When in our classroom, students will not need to ask to use the bathroom. As long as no one is in there they are welcome to go. If I notice it becomes a way to avoid work or too frequent they have to start asking to go. When in other classes (art, PE, music ect. ) students will need to ask to go to the bathroom because there is no bathroom in those classrooms.
Students are not required to bring an extra pair of clothes in case of accidents. However, you know your child best. If you think it would be beneficial, you are welcome to send an extra set of clothes to school. Your child will keep them in their locker. In case of emergency, the nurse does have extra clothes your child can borrow. She is sometimes looking for clothes donations as well. If are cleaning out your closets, please reach out to nurse Ashlie to see if she could use any items for her emergency stash.
At the start of the school year we will be having a student of the day so we can all get to know each other! The student of the day will share a little about themselves during our morning meeting. They will also get to wear their student of the day crown!
COVID guidelines are constantly changing please see the emailed correspondence from District 92 for the latest guidelines. We will be following all procedures set by the school district.
