Instructions for e-learning:
Each morning at 8:00am, your child’s teacher will host a Google Meet check in. During this time, attendance will be taken.
To access Google Meet, please have your child first tap the “Clever” app on their iPads (see below for an image of this app). Walsh e-Learning Schedule
e-Learning day is from 8:00am till 1:00pm.
Attendance
Students will be expected to attend class in the same manner that they would if they were attending Walsh in person. They should be logged into clever by 8:00am. Teachers will give instruction for Synchronous and Asynchronous learning.
Teachers will take attendance at the start of each day through Google Meet class and submit it the same way they would if they were in person.
If your child is going to be absent, please call to report them using the attendance line by dialing 815-838-7858 and then pressing 1.
Learning
e-Learning will be a blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning.
Synchronous Learning
Students will participate with their teachers and classmates in live learning experiences.
During this time the teacher and students are engaged in teaching and learning at the same time, within the same platform, using the same content (i.e. instructional delivery of a new topic or real-time discussion using a virtual meeting through Google Meet).
Asynchronous Learning
Students are engaged in learning at different times (i.e. students completing assignments/activities shared by the teacher, within a Learning Management System like SeeSaw, and/or contributing to a discussion thread or submitting assignments) with the teacher being available to answer questions or provide feedback during designated times.
Specials teachers will assign activities in Seesaw for students to complete.
Communication
During e-Learning, communication skills between all involved is extremely important.
