How can I help my child with math at home?
Encourage your child to solve everyday problems involving numbers.
Talk about the importance of math and how it is used in daily life.
Review your child’s homework and ask them to explain how they arrived at their solutions to problems.
Have your child practice using the math vocabulary for the chapter.
Play the math vocabulary game at the end of each unit with your child.
Talk with your child’s teacher about any questions you have about the math your child is learning.
Is Extra Credit Available?
Students receive extra credit on quizzes when they complete the quiz review available for the available lessons.
Students may retry an online assignment for a higher score.
How do assessments work?
Assessments are announced in advance to give ample time for students to prepare. All lesson assessments are completed on paper in class. Before the Assessment: Students will learn to review with a partner in class before the assessment. An independent review assignment will be posted through the Reveal website that will ensure readiness for the upcoming assessment. Completing this review will also earn students extra credit.
How is homework graded?
Not every homework assignment is graded or checked, but finishing a practice is crucial to classroom discussion the next school day. Students lose Dojo points if they do not have the assignment attempted for the next day.

Can I come in for extra help?
Mrs. Stateman is available some days after school or before school for additional help. Students or parents should contact me if they would like to set up a time.
How can my child study for an upcoming assessment?
Students practice for upcoming assessments through classroom games and independent study using the Quiz Review assigned through Reveal Online
Use the Unit Review at the end of each unit in their text and talk through the problems.
