Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome back all! My name is Jessica Maloney and I am thrilled to be your 1st Grade Teacher this year!

 I have already had the privilege of getting to know many of you and your families throughout my many years teaching at KG and MG.

This is my 8th year at D91. Through those years I have done 13 long term leaves at KG and MG, teaching every age Pre K thru 8th, but I truly love being with the “littles” so I have stayed put in 1st grade the last few years. 

A little about myself...I was born in Downers Grove, IL and went to Illinois State University. I have my Masters in Culturally Responsive Teaching from Relay GSE. 20 years ago, my delightfully humorous husband and I settled down in Lockport. We have 2 amazing sons and one crazy dog! Both of our boys, Freshman and Senior, attend Lockport High School. 

Some of my favorite things to do: cheering for the Chicago Bears, traveling, hiking with my dog, music concerts, playing Pictionary, doing yard work, reading the newspaper, and camping with my family. I also stay busy being a water polo, basketball, and track mom!

I am excited to be a part of this fantastic school district and this wonderful 1st grade team. I look forward to helping your child grow not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. Together we will learn, play, develop, and inspire each other. It is going to be a fun year and I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of you!
