Ensembles

The focus of the Kelvin Grove Band Program is to enhance each student's musical experience. The program consists of three concert bands: Beginning Band (mostly fourth graders), Intermediate Band (mostly fifth graders) and Concert Band (mostly sixth through eighth graders). However, in an effort to expose students to a wide variety of experiences the Kelvin Grove Band Program encourages participation in "extra" ensembles at school and outside of school.

Beginning Band

Beginning Band consists of first year players. The wind players (flutes, oboes, clarinets, saxophones, bassoons, cornets, French horns, trombones, baritones, & tubas) rehearse Tuesdays 3:15-4:00 pm. The percussion players will rehearse Fridays 3:15-4:00 pm.

Intermediate Band

Intermediate Band consists of students in their second year playing an instrument. They rehearse Monday and Thursdays after school from 3:15-4:00 pm.

Concert Band

Concert Band is an ensemble consisting of band members who have played 2 years or more. They rehearse every morning from 7:40-8:25 am.

Jazz Band

If there is enough interest, a Jazz Band will be formed with members of the Concert Band. Jazz Band meets every Wednesday after school from 3:15-4:00 pm.
