Hello, My name is Jenny DeLuca and I am honored to help guide our young learners to discover, learn, achieve, and care. This is my 22nd year being an educator. I taught first grade for eighteen years and this will be my fourth year as an intervention teacher. I graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Elementary Education. I have a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. I also studied abroad at the Loyola Rome Center in Rome, Italy. I am very excited to teach and live in Park Ridge. I have three children that attend school in Park Ridge, so I value the innovative curriculum that Park Ridge District 64 has to offer. I enjoy traveling with my family, photography, biking, swimming and yoga.
I am happy to be joining you as a partner in learning this school year. In our math groups, we play games and engage in activities designed to explore number relationships and build number sense. Our goal is to promote growth in the areas of counting and cardinality, operations and algebraic thinking, numbers and operations, measurement, and geometry. In our reading groups, we focus on building foundational reading skills such as letter and sound recognition, phonemic awareness, accuracy, fluency and comprehension skills. Our students benefit from instruction in the small group setting and it proves to be a unique learning experience.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns or just some information you would like to share. I look forward to hearing from you!
