About Me/Contact

Greetings!

My name is Joan Hoffman and I am teaching third grade at Carpenter School this year. I am a resident of Park Ridge and have been working in District 64 since 2004. Up until 2013, I substitute taught in the district and fulfilled 9 long-term positions. In 2013, I accepted a position as a Literacy/Resource teacher at Carpenter and since then have taught kindergarten, first grade, resource, and co-taught in second grade and I am thrilled to be starting my seventh year teaching third grade this year! I hold a BA  in both Regular and Special Education from Hope College and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Dominican University, as well as an endorsement in English as a Second Language. Prior to starting my family, I was a Special Education teacher in Morton Grove. Both of my children attended Carpenter and are now in their twenties and focusing on their careers! My husband Tim and I are thrilled that they have stayed close to home!

Please look for my monthly newsletter for updates on all of the exciting activities your children will be participating in! I will also be posting homework, learning outcomes, and pictures!

Please feel free to contact me at any time!

I am delighted to be back at Carpenter again this year and am looking forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, growth and fun!
