About Me

I am Jocelyn Ortiz, the School Psychologist at Field School and at Carpenter School. This is my fourth year working as a School Psychologist in District 64. Prior to becoming a school psychologist, I had the wonderful opportunity to work in District 64 as a School Psychologist Intern at Emerson Middle School and Carpenter School, and I also obtained practicum/work experiences in Woodridge, DeKalb, and Chicago. I am also currently working on completing my doctoral program at Northern Illinois University.

My experiences, as well as my strong desire to work with children and improve their academic and social-emotional outcomes have shaped me into the school psychologist that I am today. In my work as a school psychologist, I seek to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes in students by working with school staff and parents to support the academic, social emotional, and behavioral needs of students in grades K-5. I am also involved in the screening and evaluation process of students for additional school-based services.
