Originally from Milwaukee, I've called Chicago-land home for the past ten years. Currently, I reside in Villa Park with my wife, Maggie, daughter Alma, and son Frederick. I received my MMEd from VanderCook College of Music in 2013 and received my bachelor's in jazz guitar with a minor in Ethnomusicology from Oberlin Conservatory in 2005. I also compose, arrange, and play in several Chicago-based bands. Over the years, I have shared the stage with legendary musicians such as Randy Sabien, Gary Bartz, Jimmy Heath, Victor Campbell, Al Johnson, Clyde Stubblefield, Bill Martin, Billy Hart, Joey DeFrancesco, and many others. In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, spending time in nature, and home projects. Teaching orchestra allows me to share the joy of music and seeing the growth in students is most rewarding.
