Library Information Specialist
I am the new Library Information Specialist, and I'm so excited to join the Field Family this year for my first year in District 64! This will be my 6th year working in an elementary school library overall. I have previously worked in U-46 and CCSD59. My favorite part about being in a library is connecting students with new books and seeing students be excited about reading! I grew up in Streamwood, IL and currently reside in Roselle.
In 2011, I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I then returned to ISU for an additional year to add a Library Information Specialist endorsement to my teaching license and have been working in elementary libraries ever since. I plan on continuing my education to earn both a Masters in Reading and a Masters in Technology.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and doing lots of different activities, such as going out to movies, trying new restaurants, hiking and camping, going to plays and musicals, or even just staying in for a game night. I also like to get out of town when I can and visit places like Starved Rock State Park, Galena, and the Illinois Railway Museum just to name a few. Additionally, I enjoy reading (of course). I read a variety of materials for pleasure, professional development, and to keep up with children's literature.
