Therapists work with teachers to help students acquire functional abilities necessary to access their educational materials and to move about the school in a safe manner. Therapists may, also, work with students to modify or adapt their classroom materials / equipment so as to attain their greatest level of independence at school. Everything school therapists do within the school setting must be educationally relevant.
All students who receive direct services from Physical or Occupational Therapy within District 64 must have an Individual Education Program (IEP). For those students that do not have an IEP, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy are available for Consultation.
