Mini-May Statement:
As a resident of Edison Park all throughout my childhood, I knew from the first day that I came to Park Ridge that I was in the right place and immediately felt at home in Lincoln Middle School. In fact, I have always loved middle school. Some people have called me crazy for this, but I find this young adolescent age to be one of the most dynamic and challenging ages. Middle school students are full of personality, humor, and gusto. It is an age where they are learning to navigate both an academic and social existence. It is also an age where new knowledge is often the key needed to find their way in understanding these realms. I love sharing new information and exploring the "whys" and "hows" of our world with these emerging souls. I love to ask questions / discover answers in my own life and hope to instill the same passion in my students. I am a thrill seeker and adventurer by nature. I find Science to be just the outlet for this!
I currently live in Arlington Heights with my two rambunctious daughters Julia and Maggie. We also have a pet fish who they have aptly named "Poopy" (Because the girls are 6/5 years old and the fish quite frankly does this quite a bit). They are 12.5 months apart in age and are really fun to be with. I enjoy being outside and fixing things around my house. I am basically a Do-It-Yourself Warrior. In fact, my father bought me a fancy powered drill for my birthday one year and I LOVE it! I basically live on Starbucks and Chiptole. I spend what little free time I have reading books I've been meaning to read but haven't yet started. I also like making lists of things to do in the free time I dream to have. I have lots of energy and don't like to sit still very long unless I'm on the beach.
Overall, I perpetually feel like I am a middle school student stuck in an old lady's body. So LETS DO THIS! HERE'S TO A GREAT YEAR!
