Our D62 Rivers Dream Lab is a shared district makerspace housed at Algonquin Middle School. We will

• create a space for students to explore, create, and tinker using digital & physical tools.
• capture and share stories of student learning.
• create a set of core-content maker lessons designed & vetted by a community of educators.
• explore new pedagogies, take risks and shift mindsets.

Our Dream Lab will critically examine how and when making leads to complex conceptual mastery in math, science, social studies, reading, and writing. Lesson plans will seek to discover which ideas, skills, and strategies are best understood through making. Our Dream Lab is one initiative of many meant to build Student Agency in our district and help us move towards the board goal of supporting students in becoming Future Ready.
