At Mesa View Elementary, our counseling program is dedicated to inspiring, educating, and empowering every child. We envision a nurturing environment where all students thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Through collaborative partnerships with parents, guardians, and educators, we aim to promote holistic growth and foster a supportive community that values each child's unique journey.
The vision for the school counseling program at Mesa View Elementary is to embrace and nurture the potential of every child with skills and mindsets to be curious, empathetic and compassionate individuals
Dear Mesa View Elementary Families,
I am here to help support your child through social and emotional growth! I teach whole class lessons once a month that provide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) as well as Career Readiness, every six weeks. I am available to work with students in small groups to support social/emotional skills or meet with students individually. I seek your permission prior to your child starting a small group or doing ongoing individual skill development.
School based counseling is not a substitute for community based mental health services. I am here if you are needing to brainstorm ideas together regarding your child’s social or emotional wellness with any community resources.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call me at 970.254.7970 ext. 52122 or email, katie.johnson@D51schools.org. I look forward to working with you to support your student (s)!
Respectfully,
Katie Johnson
