Principal's Corner
Hello, Fruita Family, and welcome to the first Friday in November. Hard to believe that Thanksgiving break is just a couple weeks out. We hope you have been able to get outside and enjoy some beautiful Fall weather. The District 51 Middle School Boys Basketball Tournament will be played on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week with locations and times TBD.
In January, you will start getting messages about a new messaging platform called ParentSquare. This is the new one-stop shop method of communication District 51 will be using for the start of 2026. All of District 51 will be using this, so you'll only have to go to one place for all information related to District 51 Programs. More to come!
Thank you to the FMS Community for donating 949 pounds of food in our FMS Food Drive last week! Donations were sent to the Community Food Bank in Grand Junction.
Have a great weekend!

Support Our Teams: Calendar Fundraiser!
Help us score big for our athletes! We're running a Pick-a-Day, Pay-that-Amount fundraiser through PTO to raise funds for new sports jerseys and grow our sports funds. Simply choose a day on the calendar, donate the corresponding amount, and know that your support will directly impact our teams. Every contribution gets us closer to providing our athletes with the gear and resources they deserve. Let’s make this a winning season—your support means the world to our sports programs! Thank you for helping us reach our goal!
Kids Aid has created an anonymous survey for families to help them get a feel for how many may need our services in the near future.
We would love to have as much feedback as possible.
📆Next PTO Meeting: Join us on Wednesday, November 12th at 4:30 p.m. in the FMS Library.
Come see what we’re up to and find out how you can get involved!
The FMS Choirs & FMHS Music Departments are once again selling BUTTER BRAIDS!!! For those who don’t know, Butter Braids are a frozen pastry w/various fillings that you leave out overnight to ‘rise’ and you bake it in the morning. YUM-MY! They are great during the holidays if you have extra ‘visitors’ for breakfast.☺ If they stay frozen, they are still good a year later—I’ve done this for many years!
The cost is $16/each, with $6 of that amount going directly to our music programs. Besides the famous Butter Braids (7 flavors), we also will be selling (Gluten Free) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Croissant Crowns.
On Monday (Nov 3rd), FMS Choir students will have order forms and you can also place your order online (provided they’ve registered to be a seller). All orders are due on Thursday, Nov. 20th (money is collected when the order is placed). Delivery date is Wednesday, Dec. 3rd at FMHS after school. Feel free to contact any FMS Choir student or Teri Bohl-choir director (tbohl@d51schools.org), if you’d like to place an order. We thank you in advance for helping support our music program!
