Fruita Fam! We have reached the last Friday in a Fantastic First Year as Fruita Middle School 6-8! We hope that everyone has a wonderful summer and returns safe and sound to FMS or FMHS in the Fall.
Lego League tryouts will be at 4:15PM next Monday, May 19th. The Wildcat Carnival will be held on Wednesday, May 21st starting at 1:00PM. That will also be the last day of student attendance for the year.
We would also like parents to consider joining the PTO for next year to support teachers and students. The commitment is limited, and if interested, contact Principal Jeremiah Johnston at jeremiah.johnston@d51schools.org .
Have a great summer!
Wildcat Carnival-Wednesday, May 21st.
We will have all kinds of fun outdoor activities. Please send your student with a towel, sunscreen, and extra clothes if they will want to change out of wet clothes. We will be on an alternate schedule to accommodate all the activities on this date. If you are picking your student up before the carnival, please pick them up by 1:00PM.
Attention Parents:
All Yondr Pouches, library books, Chromebooks, and chargers are due back by Monday, May 19th.
Fees will be assigned for books and equipment not turned back in.
Last call for lost & found items! Please remind your student to check the lost & found for anything they are missing. Items will be donated at the end of the year. Thank you!
🔥Yearbooks Are SOLD OUT! 🔥
Thanks to the hard work of our yearbook committee and months of advertising efforts, all yearbooks have officially sold out! Yearbooks have been available for purchase since August, with pre-orders due by the end of February. We shared reminders through parent newsletters, school text messages, daily announcements, signs waved by yearbook staff before and after school, “Yearbooks Purchased” lists posted in the hallways, and more. Thanks to this incredible team effort, we’re thrilled with the response and excitement!
Please note that the only way to purchase a yearbook was through jostensyearbooks.com. Several students have come by thinking a yearbook was ordered for them, only to find one was not. If your student did not receive a yearbook but you have a receipt from Jostens, please email Mrs. Johnson (roxanne@d51schools.org) with proof of purchase no later than Sunday, May 18 so we can look into it.
Thank you for supporting our yearbook program!
Core 7-1 is collecting food and personal hygiene items to donate to the R5 High School "Food Sundry". These items will go to R5 students in need. Please have your student deliver all items to Mrs. Lintott's room, 141.

Student volunteer opportuity with the library
Wow, the year has really flown by. We are already at Summer Reading time.
We are sharing this flyer in case there were any students you run across who are interested in volunteering with the library this summer. They are welcome to reach out to me at volunteer@mcpld.org for information.
We had a ton of applicants at the beginning of the school year but we've really slowed down unfortunately right when we need teen volunteers the most. If you know of anyone looking to fulfill hours, please send them my way. We have opportunities available at the Clifton, Fruita and Central locations.
Didn't make it to the interest meeting for our 2027 Costa Rica trip?
