Career Technical Education is offered in two departments at Central High School including the Business Department and the Technical Education Department. These departments offer specific classes approved for designated career pathways for our students to explore before graduation. These pathways have course sequencing to further support the departments performance metrics as reported on the ACTE website.
These performance metrics are tied directly to funding for our Perkins Grant. Once yearly, programs can put in a request for high dollar items to support the continued growth and connection to industry. These Perkins requests can be fulfilled or denied depending on the performance of us connecting with our students to a trade, post-secondary option, or immediate career need. This is why scheduling is important!
