SYMBOLISM

Red, black, and silver are the school colors.  

The shield shape was adapted from the state seal of Colorado. 

The pile denotes the Grand Valley; both of these features allude to the geography of the school’s location in Grand Junction, Colorado.  

The lamp of knowledge signifies academic excellence and enlightenment. 

The winged foot suggests the school’s achievements in athletic programs.  

The paint brushes and lyre highlight the music and arts curriculum. 

The wavy bar represents the Colorado River.
