Welcome to E-Learning! You can find each day's E-Learning Plan at the top tab labeled "E-Learning Plans". I will continue to update this website but the majority of updates will come through email!:)
Before Spring Break, students learned "Tricky Words". These are words that cannot be sounded out because a part of the word doesn't follow the rules. These should be memorized. It is a great idea to write them on flash cards and go through them daily.
Please look over the website. I hope that you are able to find useful classroom and school information. I will update the website each week with upcoming events, reminders, and our classroom learning objectives. If there is something that you would like to see added to our website, please let me know!
Upcoming Events and Reminders:
Effort Cards: Each day your child tracks their effort during center/reading and math intervention time. At the end of each week, they will bring home a small square piece of paper labeled "My Effort". Below are the number breakdowns:
4- I tried my best and went above and beyond!
3- I tried my best!
2- I could have tried harder.
1- I didn't try at all.
Thursday Folders: Each Thursday, your kiddo will bring home their purple Thursday Folder with important information inside for you. Please take out the papers inside and send it back with your child.
Breakfast: If your child would like to eat breakfast, they can go into the cafeteria starting at 8:05. If they ride the bus, they can go straight into the cafeteria and start eating when they arrive.
Book Orders: If you would like to order online instead of through the book orders I send home, you can always do so at anytime at Scholastic.com using our classroom code: M9ZP4
Binders: Please look through these each night and take out the papers that were placed inside. On the front cover of your child's binder, there is an information sheet that will tell you about each item in the binder. Please let me know if you have any questions!
CKLA Parent Letters/Practice Pages: These parent letters are provided for you to read about and see what your child is doing in class. Most of the time, there is further practice for your child on the skill that we are working on on this letter. If they complete the worksheet (if there is anything for them to do on it) and bring it back to school, they will receive a bulldog bone to use at the school store!
Math Homework: Your child is not required to do this, but it is great practice for them at home. They should be able to complete the homework (after they've been read the directions). If your child is having a difficult time completing the homework, please guide them through it because that means that they are most likely having difficulty at school as well.
Volunteers: Under "Volunteer Opportunities" on the top navigation bar, I have the "March Volunteer/Mystery Reader Sign-Up". This is a Google Doc. If you would like to come in and volunteer, you can sign-up on the Google Doc. If those times do not work, please email me and we will figure something out:) Please know that you will be required to complete a background check through the District Office in order to volunteer.
Mystery Reader: Please read more information about being a "Mystery Reader" on the top navigation bar under "Volunteer Opportunities" to the left. This is so much fun for the kiddos and a great way to surprise your child! You can sign up to do this on the left hand sidebar attachment called "March Volunteer/Mystery Reader Sign-Up". You do not have to have a background check for this.
Box Tops: We are ALWAYS collecting boxtops at school! You can send these to school at anytime with your child OR you can download the app "Box Tops" and scan your receipt. It will automatically find any box tops that you have earned from your purchase!
Star of the Week: In your child's Back to School Night Folder, you received a "Star of the Week" Poster. As soon as your kiddo has completed their poster, please have them return it to school. When your kiddo is "Star of the Week", they will get to share their poster with the class and bring show and tell each day for a week. They will also get to take "Elliot the Elephant" home for the weekend! I will email you when it is your child's turn.
