PROJECT CHOICES- Choose one project from each subject area to complete. Turn these in as you complete them. You can of course do more than one from each area if you like.
Reading- Choose 1
1. Choose a book from your nightly reading. Write a one page book report.
2. Find a book series (ex. Magic Tree House, A to Z Mysteries, Boxcar Children, etc.). Read at least two books in this series and write down which titles you read.
3. Read four of your favorite picture books to a sibling, pet, parent, or stuffed animal. This can be completed over several days. Turn in a list of the books you read and who you read them to.
Writing- Choose 1
1. Create a crossword puzzle using one of the spelling lists from this month.
2. Pretend that you are meeting someone new. How would you explain who you are? Write one page that includes facts about your hobbies, interests, family, and personality. Draw a picture of yourself doing your favorite activity.
3. What is a friend? Write a paragraph about a friend using descriptive words. Draw a picture of your friend.
Math- Choose 1
1. Think about all the things that you throw away or recycle at home. For one week, keep track of the number of cans, glass, cardboard, and plastic that you throw out or recycle. Use this information to make a graph. Write one sentence that explains the graph.
2. Use the internet to search for a fun math website where you can practice your math skills. Write down the sites you went to, what you practiced, and how long you spent there.
3. Find different arrays around your house. Find at least 10 arrays and write them down on a sheet of paper.
Monday - Thursday: read for 20 minutes each day

The only time your student will have homework is if they do not finish their work in class. I believe they should work hard in class and then go home and enjoy their family and friends.
