This is my 21st year teaching! I am originally from Omaha, NE. My family moved to Colorado Springs in 2010.
I started my teaching career in a Nebraska small town 7-12 Jr/Sr High as the 7-9 English teacher, and I spent my first five years in Colorado Springs teaching at a school in D11. I moved to Skyview Middle School in D49 then moved up to the high school with some of my former students as I took over this position in the art department! I get to play with cameras, and editing software, and tell the story of the school year Every Day! I've found my home!
I have been a techie teacher my entire career. I love to try new things and new technologies in my classroom! I was fortunate enough to represent Colorado as the Colorado PBS Lead Digital Innovator. I was Colorado's Yearbook Adviser of the Year in 2022 and our Vista yearbook has won the National Varsity Brands Most Spirited award twice now!
Outside of school you can find me with my kiddos and husband. We particularly love the outdoors. My camera goes everywhere with me to document our adventures! You can always find us paddle boarding on a lake or snowboarding in Breckenridge!
These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: Halloween; Flavored Seltzer Waters; Coconut-milk Lattes; Chips and Salsa; Popcorn; Silver and Blue; Seahorses; Dogs; Reading; Paddleboarding; Swimming; Nebraska Huskers Football; Broncos; Cubs; and Gonzaga Basketball!
