Staying fit and being active is so very important to our overall health and wellbeing. Regular physical activity helps the mind and the body in many ways. In Prairieview Physical Education we believe fitness is the key to a strong learner. Research has shown that active children learn better and score higher on exams than those students that are less active. Below are a few examples of how fitness activities effect students
Studies have shown that students who do not regularly attend Physical Education class are twice as likely to be be sedentary outside of school.
Student's brains are more active and receptive to learning after exercise and physical movement. The pictures to the right show the difference between a student that was sitting quietly and a student that was just walking. Imagine how much more a student can learn after 40 minutes of Physical Education class!
