We are working hard on our individual PBIS goal for this trimester-quick and quiet transitions. I hope everyone enjoys Easter. We will be in session on Monday, April 6 to make up for our snow day. We are in desperate need of tissue in the classroom, so if you can help that would be greatly appreciated. Remember my google site also has a lot of other key components for our classroom:)
Things to Remember:
April 3- No School- Good Friday
April 6-We will be in session
April 13-17- IAR testing (be sure to get rest and breakfast; see snack donation note for testing)
April 14-Trimester 3 Grows and Glows-Progress Reports go home
April 16-permission slips due for field trip to the Shedd Aquarium on May 1
April 17-Early release at 11:30-SIP Day
May 1- (Extended day) Shedd Aquarium Field trip-arrive at 7:15 am and return at 3:15 pm
May 7-Spring Sing 6-7 pm
May 14-Author’s Night and Art Show
May 15-Early Release at 11:30-SIP day
May 22-Field Day (look for more information in the future)
May 25-No School-Memorial Day
May 27-Last Day of School-Early Release at 11:30

Snack is a part of our daily routine. Please make sure it is snack size portioned and healthy.
This week in class:
Reading- Next week, we will continue to focus on Unit 7-How do communities evolve?
Math-Next week, we will continue on Module 6 on Decimal Fractions. Students will focus on adding/subtracting decimals and work with money. Fact practice is the key to all the modules for this school year.
Language Arts- Next week we will focus on using prepositional phrases and writing skills using historical fiction.
Spelling- Spelling lists will be found on my google site.
Social Studies-Next week, we will begin the unit on the West Chapter 6. EQ: What draws people to the West? Chapter 6 Lesson 1: What role did geography have in developing early cultures? Study West capitals and begin reviewing all the previous state capitals.
Science-Next week, we will continue Unit 3 Lesson 7- What Can People Do About Natural Hazards?
