The AP Portfolio is an advanced placement portfolio that gets scored by the College Board. This portfolio can be used to help gain entrance to and scholarships for college level art degrees. Hiawatha's Portfolio class IS NOT an AP course. The general curricula and guidelines for our course is designed for students to put together a portfolio that can be used for college entrance if they so choose, but it is not a requirement.
Students may submit a portfolio to the AP College Board if they so choose. PLEASE NOTE: A student must decide if they are going to submit a portfolio during the first couple of weeks of school. This is a rigorous process and the portfolio requires more artworks to be completed than the curriculum has scheduled for the course. 15 artworks that carry a sustained investigation or theme, along with five physical works are to be created for the AP Portfolio.
Hiawatha's Portfolio Course requires a minimum of 12 artworks to be created during the school year.
