This webpage is intended for 5th-Grade Band students from Fox Ridge, Munhall, and Norton Creek Elementary Schools. Mrs. Lydigsen will post hand-outs, music, interesting videos, and much more for your convenience.
Jennifer Lydigsen
Mrs. Lydigsen is passionate about inspiring students to perform at their best. She loves the challenge of working with young musicians and is constantly amazed by the growth of her students every year. Starting in fourth grade, Mrs. Lydigsen joined her band program playing the flute. In addition to the flute, she also played the viola at Stevenson High School. In high school, she auditioned for the Blue Lake International Symphonic Band and toured Europe with the symphony in the summer of 1999 and 2000. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Her Masters of Music Education was earned at the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.
Mrs. Lydigsen loves teaching instrumental music and has worked in both public and private institutions with students in 4th through 12th grades. She has been an ILMEA Band Representative and was a founding member of the Northern Illinois Music Conference. As a presenter and clinician, Mrs. Lydigsen has worked with other band directors to "Assess the #Selfie Generation" and promote digital portfolios in the music classroom. She was also the winning recipient of the Yvonne Banks Most Caring Teacher Award in 2015 at the Lake Forest Country Day School.
A fellow D303 parent, Mrs. Lydigsen lives in St. Charles with her husband, two children, and giant Great Dane.
