Students: You have until July 24th, 2025 to transfer or download your Google Content.
Staff: You have 24 hours after your last day of employment to transfer or download your Google Content
After that, you will no longer have access to your D303 Google Account and files within Google Workspace as your account will be permanently deleted.
Gives you the opportunity to transfer Google Drive files and emails to a personal Google account (you will need to create a personal Google account before doing this).
Allows for you to export needed data into a zip file to be kept on a personal device (think of this as a way to have your files transferred to your device).
⭐ If you aren't sure which process to take on, Takeout or Transfer, think about how you would like access to your work. If you would rather access a file on your desktop, then Takeout is for you. If you would rather your files are stored in the Google Cloud, then Transfer is for you.
** Google Transfer only transfers emails and Google Drive files -- Takeout gives you the option to additionally export Google Keep Notes, Calendar invites, etc... So, you may use both Transfer and Takeout together.

Export and Download a copy of your materials to be stored on your personal device. Pick which materials you export from your Google Account.
i.e. Classroom, Calendar, Keep, Contacts, etc..
⚠️ You may choose to transfer Drive files and Emails using Google Transfer and then other items like Google Keep lists and contacts using Google Takeout.

Tip: Only select the data you absolutely need as this process can take a while to export all files.
Tip: Complete the takeout process on a personal device at home as it can take multiple hours and/or days.
When using Google Takeout, the only files that will "transfer" or export are the ones you own. In order to transfer or export files you are not the owner of, you will need to "Make a Copy."
However, the Google Transfer process will transfer files from your "Shared with Me" folder. It would be wise to double check to make sure needed files from your "Shared with Me" folder have transferred once the process is complete.
If you would like files to live and exist in D303 after you leave, you will need to transfer ownership of the files to someone who will remain in the district.
Note: You should transfer ownership of a file AFTER you have completed the Google Transfer process so that you can also retain a copy of the file.

In order to transfer Canva projects
👉 STUDENTS using Citrix servers should transfer files from home.
👉 For any files that are not saved to Google automatically (ex: Adobe, Canva, WeVideo, Final Cut Pro libraries, etc), first upload these files to Drive and then start the transfer/takeout process.
👉 STAFF: Best option is to start this process a couple weeks before the end of the school year. The transfer process could take up to a week depending on how many files you have.

After you complete the Google Transfer/Takeout process, you will want to transfer ownership of files that need to stay active in D303 to another student or staff member. If you don't, the file will disappear when your account is deleted after July 24th, 2025.
