Speech & Acting Team
Speech & Acting Team is an IHSA activity allowing students to compete in 14 different speech and acting events. This is an excellent way for students to become more confident speakers, to develop leadership skills, and to participate in a very active team. From October to January, the team competes at 8 invitational tournaments hosted by area schools. STCE also hosts a tournament in January. The team competes in the state series (regionals, sectionals, state) in February.
Newspaper/X-Ray
Newspaper/X-Ray
X-ray newspaper is a club at East. We meet every Monday from 2:30-3:00 and have "late night" production nights once a month for each issue.
We publish 7-8 issues covering school news, sports, features, editorials, columns, entertainment, etc. We take new members at any time during the year. We also compete in the IHSA state journalism competition in the spring.
