Life Science Seminars
Anatomy students researched a system in the body, created a working model of that system, and shared their research with the class.
In the cross-curricular seminar titled Neuroscience, the Human Brain, and Behavior, students studied the anatomy of the brain and the different ways that our brain impacts our day-to-day lives. They studied brain anatomy as well as the psychology surrounding different areas of neurodivergence.
As part of a summer learning opportunity, students worked with Mr. Head to create a Compass Garden.
Technology and Design Seminars
Students in our CAD drafting seminar worked with their culinary counterparts to create chocolate molds for our Chocolate and Coffee Night.
Students in our CNC class designed their own block by creating an individualized program and engraving it with the CNC mill.
Advanced CNC students used the CNC lathe to create chess pieces.
Math Seminars
Students in Geometry designed garden layouts for a Compass teacher's back yard and used their math skills to pitch why their design would provide the best coverage.
Algebra 2 students had to create a product that shows a real-life application of the math they were learning.
