Dundee Community High School was housed in three locations over the years:
1864-1921 on North Sixth Street in West Dundee
1921-1956 on Western Avenue (Route 31) in Carpentersville
1956-1983 on Cleveland Avenue in Carpentersville which is the site for Carpentersville Middle School today.
The mascot for DCHS was the Cardunals which stood for Carpentersville, Dundee, Algonquin.

Irving Crown High school was built in 1964 and opened with Sophomores and Junior classes only. The first graduating class was 1966.
Irving Crown was the founder and Chairman of Material Services Company. Irving Crown and Material Services Company donated the land which was formerly a gravel pit to D300 for the high school. Irving Crown passed away in 1987 at the age of 92.
Dundee-Crown High School was made from consolidating Dundee Community High School and Irving Crown High School in 1983. Dundee-Crown is one of three high schools in Community School District 300.
The school serves people from Carpentersville (the majority), the east half of Algonquin, East Dundee, portions of West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, southwest Cary, southwest Fox River Grove, western Barrington Hills and western South Barrington.
