Fall Play

The fall play had four student guides completing a project, but they procrastinated, and had to they made it up on the spot They slowly told the story of a mythological event with some funny pop culture references. The play was a great experience, and if you missed it, luckily next year there will be another one. If your ready for it, you can even try out. But sadly, you will miss out on the fabulous costume and prop master Mrs Witek who is retiring at the end of the year.

Fall Festival

The annual DMS fall fest took place on October 30th, the day right before Halloween.

We had so many amazing volunteers at all of our stations, and we’re very thankful for them putting time aside to attend. We had various people dress up and come to the fall fest. There was a long table for food, drinks, and snacks, as well as two Kona Ice trucks present. Everyone who attended got a free bottle of water and three choice pieces of candy upon entry.

There were various activities going on as well, such as three blowup games: an inflatable gymnastics area, one for soccer, and one for basketball. Some kids even brought their own balls, and started up their own soccer, volleyball, and football games. Some might say that one of the highlights of the event was the music, thanks to our very own DMS band teacher, Mr. Kasper who was in charge of the music. Overall, most people had a nice time, and the event was a great experience for everyone.

Pink Ribbon

On October 21st we had our live pink ribbon honoring all those people out there that had or still are fighting breast cancer. We had so many people that wore pink we had to go out of the pink ribbon lines! The live pink ribbon picture got sent out so see if you can still find yourself in ALL of those people.

ARK Assembly

This has been the best quarter ever. We love to celebrate the times of the quarter that are special. One way we show our love is with prizes. This quarter we did a halloween basket, a dunkin donuts gift card and lunch with a teacher. The winner of the halloween basket was Aliza Gonzy winner of the dunkin donuts gift card was Leilani Hernandez. And the winner of lunch with a teacher is Ingnasio, good job for all the winners of the prize raffles. If you have been late or tardy to a class make sure that you have filled out the absent form on your morning announcements email because if you get perfect attendance you can win a prize as well. Two people will win different prizes, so get in class on time. The two winners for perfect attendance are Cameron Milan and Maya Louis congrats. Don't miss out, we have fun games every time. We played a fun game. This quarter we did a tug-a-war game. If you can win five games you get to go to a match against the teachers.

Bully Prevention

Prevent Bullying. Bullying is happening globally and also here locally at our school. It is also getting physical and dangerous in many places. Bullying needs to be stopped. We might not be able to stop it globally, but let’s end it here at DMS. DMS doesn’t need fights, we need friends and happiness. We can stop bullying and teasing here at DMS by replacing it with kindness. So put effort into it and we will be the best school ever by far!

Outdoor Club

The outdoor club had an amazing s’mores day on Thursday, October 9th, so many people came. Not too late to join in on the next fun day! On Sunday, October 19th the bike trip was sadly cancelled, but is rescheduled for sometime in the spring. Come next time and have fun, create friendships, and learn about the wonderful natures of well, NATURE!

Wrestling Open Mat

Wrestling is a world wide growing sport. Open mats have started! So far wrestling open mats have had three practices and one informational meeting. Open mats allow kids who have never played before learn how to wrestle for the regular season in January or February. Open mats give opportunities for 8 or 7th graders who haven’t tried doing it the years before do it now. If you have any questions ask Mr. Joslyn or Mr. Wickert if you can still sign up or if it’s too late. Wrestling open mats lets you watch a movie at the end on December 11th, 2025, there will be unlimited pizza and snacks/Jerky. Wrestling is willing for anybody to join ANYONE!

Advisory

Advisory is a special place where you can track your grades, track your attendance, and see if you were tardy. Everybody has an Advisory and your advisory teacher is someone that will support you in the beginning of the day and make sure you are comfortable for the rest of the school day. Advisory is where many friendships are made and seen for the future. Advisory teachers don’t even need to be one of your actual teachers. They are a teacher in school but an adult to support you.

Yoga Club

Yoga club is a way to have fun with your friends! It is a fun program that you can still sign up for. There is a challenge posse in every single class. There are a lot of animal poses and partner poses! Yoga is where you can have a lot of fun doing poses with your friends to calm and relax yourself!!!!! At the end of each class, there will be a 5-10 minute unwinding time. Yoga can help you forget about something you were mad about, and it can help you become a more calm and flexible person, and it is a lot of fun! Soon we will have a hot chocolate party, and then in spring they will have a tea party.

Yeeps

Yeeps hide and seek is a game for building, hide and seek, horror and just having a fun time. That's just a short version. Yeeps is a game for building and hide and seek, but it wasn't always the case. Yeeps started out as just a VR hide and seek game. The Yeeps were frogs in an early concept art with an unfinished 1.0 desert biome. While the development progressed, the Yeep became a plush and building was introduced! The finished 1.0 version was introduced with a completed building system from the app lab in July of 2024. Yeeps then had a “launch party” update with a beach biome. Following the beach biome update came a fighting update. Yeeps then produced a Christmas update with some funny items like a toy RC train! Yeeps then introduced a new fantasy biome with never before seen mechanics like potions! Yeeps then added pets, a prop gamemode and mobs! And drum roll please, YEEPS 2.0! This update included a new outside terrane system, mobs, maps, interactable gnome NPCs and larger maps. We finally had the completed desert biome.

Newspaper Club

We have had 7 awesome kids, come out after school and work on a newspaper. We not only have had lots of progress fro them but also because of an awesome teacher. Ms La grippe has helped us correct and fix our mistakes. Come and help us build a newspaper that everyone can read (in DMS). We meet 3 time a month and we write about all the sports and activities we do at DMS. Come join us and write about something that is happening. Get yourself out there! We are always wanting more people!
