Christmas - December 25th
Christmas is a traditionally Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. Christmas has been celebrated worldwide by Christians and non-Christians alike as a secular holiday since the 20th century. Most American families celebrate by having a dinner centered around ham or turkey with multiple side dishes, or decorating trees with tinsel and heirlooms, some attend religious masses or church sessions. There are many ways to celebrate this holiday, and every family does it differently.
Hanukkah - Evening of Sun, Dec 14, 2025 – Mon, Dec 22, 2025
Hankkah, or Channukah, is a Jewish festival, or festival of lights, that lasts eight days. It celebrates the victory of the Maccabees over the Syria-Greek Army. It celebrates the redecidation of the Holy Temple in Jersulem.
Bodhi Day - December 8th
Bodhi Day, also known as Buddha’s "enlightenment day,” marks the day Siddharta Gautama attained awakening and became the Buddha. Though not all Buddhists recognize Bodhi, those who celebrate the holiday do it in many different ways. Some decorate trees with lights, or they have special meals like rice and milk, others even recognize the day by participation in acts of kindness.

Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African-American heritage, culture, community and families. It began in 1966 by Maulana Karenga who wanted to celebrate Africans who had moved around the world.
