How to get Spanish accent marks while typing .
For Chromebook
These are the steps to follow to add the International Keyboard to the Chromebook which makes it easy to type accents for the Spanish language.
- On the right hand side of the ChromeBook go to the three bars on the right and choose Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and look for Show advanced settings
- Scroll down to Languages and input settings
- Put a checkmark next to US international keyboard
- Click Done
- You will see US in the bottom right. Click on US.
- Scroll up to US keyboard and choose INTL
Now that you see INTL over on the bottom right of your screen you can type your accents.
- Use the Alt key on the right side of the keyboard.
- Hold down the Alt key on the right and then click a, e, i, o, u, or n.
- Do the same for the question and exclamation marks
For Windows:
Here are several different options.
- Copy and paste these: á é í ó ú ñ ¿ ¡ ü É
- Change the keyboard to US international in Windows. After that, hold down Alt + the letter on which you want the accent (Alt + e = é)
- Use the number pad to get the accents by code (Alt + 160 = á) -
á=Alt+0225
é=Alt+0233
í=Alt+0237
ó=Alt+0243
ú=Alt+0250
ñ=Alt+0241
ü=Alt+0252
¡=Alt+0161
¿=Alt+0191
For MAC:
Use Alt + the letter code or Option + the letter code:
- ´ = Option + e + letter
- ñ = Option + n + n
- ¨ = Option + u + letter (usually "u")
- ¡ = Option + 1
- ¿ = Option + Shift + ?
For iPhone or iPad:
Hold down on the letter on which you want the accent. A pop-up box will appear with several choices. Choose the one you want.
