A & P Policies and Procedures

This assignment is to come to class on time and to be present (mentally as well as physically) and engaged appropriately in the activities of the class. This assignment is to get you ready for college and workplace expectations for attendance and behavior.

Ten activity/investigation points (Activity/Investigation points comprise 30% of the semester grade.) will be awarded on the first day of each unit of study. Each instance of not meeting the standards, as described below, will result in a forfeiture of one point. If a student depletes all of his/her points before the end of the unit, but continues to not meet the standards, points may be subtracted from subsequent units.

Attendance (A) & Tardiness (T)

• unexcused absences from school
  • Excused absences, on quiz or test days, for medical/dental reasons must be supported with a signed note from your doctor/dentist. Phone calls may be made to confirm the authenticity of any note.
• unexcused tardiness for any reason
  • Being tardy means that you are not in your seat ready to write/participate when the bell rings.

Participation (P)

Civil Behavior (CB)

• being kind (BK)
• being thoughtful (BT)
• standing up to bullies (SB)
• correcting & questioning the negative behaviors of others (NB)
• being appropriate while a substitute teacher is in the room (SUB)
  • An automatic 5 points will be deducted if your behavior in class while a sub is present causes a disruption to the learning environment.
