AP Language and Composition ONLY has an additional requirement
In addition to reading a book from the primary summer reading list,
AP Lang students should also select at least one non-fiction title from the list below.
Since college and career reading consists primarily of non-fiction texts and the AP Language and Composition exam consists solely of passages from non-fiction readings, we encourage incoming AP Lang students to read some non-fiction over the summer. We want to share some additional titles that we think you will find interesting. If you find any of these titles objectionable, you may choose another non-fiction text of similar rigor. Students will not have a specific summer reading assignment to complete for this book, but your teachers will ask you to refer to the texts in class for various assignments.
