Coach Popovici (Coach P) has been coaching water polo and soccer for the last 5 years. Along with Coach Hyde he helped Elk Grove's 2012 team reach their most successful season in history. In addition to coaching the boys at Elk Grove, Coach P helped with the girls team in 2013. Last year, while helping coach the JV team with Coach Hyde he saw the passion and the dedication that the Hersey Huskies have for water polo. This is his first year as the Huskies Head Coach, and he hopes to continue the long history of commitment, competitiveness, and sportsmanship that Coach Mortensen had. His plan is to build a positive, competitive environment that will ensure the student-athletes are successful in every avenue of their lives.

Coach Boland is a teachers assistant in district 211’s Academy South. Coach Boland has been involved in the world of waterpolo for over 10 years, and possesses an immense passion for the sport. He has competed in various levels of the sport which include the collegiate level for the Lindenwood Lions. He and the Lions became division 1 national champions in 2014 where the team triumphed through adversity to defeat San Diego State University with a score of 13-8. Coach Boland holds an immense amount of knowledge for the sport and firmly believes the key to success is unity amongst team members. Coach Boland graduated from Lindenwood in 2016 with a BFA in graphic design, and currently is enrolled in The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where he working towards his masters degree in counseling psychology.
