Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated every year in the United States from September 15 to October 15 to honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of people whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The celebration starts on September 15 because it is the independence day for several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, with Mexico and Chile following shortly after. During this month, people recognize the impact Hispanic and Latino communities have had on the nation’s history, arts, music, food, and culture. It’s a time to celebrate traditions, highlight achievements, and honor the diversity within Hispanic and Latino identities.
