Welome to the first annual District 214 time arts show!
What is time arts? Time arts can be any visual art that occurs across time. This could be stop motion animaton, hand drawn computer animation, or even work that has an interactive component added to it.
This year we have two categories. Animated GIFs and Short films. Animated gifs are defined as any image that loops and is under 15 seconds in length while short films are intended to be seen from beginning to end.

Judge Robert Lee Fritz
BEST IN SHOW: Lee Wozniak Prospect High School
This film really punched its theme across using animated visuals, music, spoken words, and
written words. It kept my eyes and ears engaged throughout the film. Nice changeup from the
white to black background.
1st Place Short Films: Sara Casillas Elk Grove High School
This delightful stop motion clay and pixilation film told its story well. Excellent simple but
effective background. Well chosen music and SFX. Nice use of color throughout.
1st Place Gifs: Levi Karls Rolling Meadows High School
An absolutely wonderful use of the elements of art and principles of design. Simple effective
flowing primary and secondary movements of the human as well as the planes. Excellent color
palette.
2nd Place Short Films: Emma Taucher Chef Elk Grove High School
Good choice of music to foreshadow that something is going to happen. Very nice cut paper
animation techniques. I enjoyed the stylization of your two characters.
2nd Place Gifs: Juan Dionicio Wheeling High School
Wonderfully drawn character. I enjoyed your use of mark making throughout the piece. Perfect
color palette and well chosen background.
