DROP IN FOR CHECKOUTS
So that you have plenty of reading options at your fingertips, you may "drop in" to pick up holds, return books, or check out new books before school and during passing periods. English teachers may also allow students to "drop in" during class reading time.
STAY DURING YOUR FREE PERIODS
9th Graders: ask your teacher to write a pass to the library or English Help Desk. Come straight to the library before the bell to scan your ID for attendance. Then check in with the library staff right away with your pass.
10, 11, 12th Graders: Scan in for attendance at the beginning of the period, even during a lunch hour.
Need to use the bathroom or see a staff member outside of the library? Students must sign out with a supervisor to leave, take a hall pass, and sign back in when returning.
RESERVE SPACE
Students and staff may reserve the private study rooms (named Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw after Mrs. Meitzler's and Mrs. Bland's Hogwarts houses.) See availability and reserve them here.
Find your home within this beautiful space. The library has different areas for different purposes:

Quiet academic focus, English Help Desk, or tutoring
LIBRARY CAFE
"Quietly Social" Area
LIBRARY DEN
Social, collaborative area
STUDY ROOMS & FIREPLACE CORNER
Sign up using our Google Form for academic use, such as practicing for a speech, collaborating on a group project, studying for a test.

Please return checkouts promptly so others can enjoy them too.

Cite your sources when paraphrasing and quoting information.
RESPECT
Have your ID ready to scan.
Follow instruction and expectations (ask if you're unsure).
Keep conversations private and devices silent.

INCLUSION
Use appropriate, positive language in your conversations with others.
Assume positive intent when describing challenging situations.
RESILIENCE
Meet with English teachers at the English Help Desk regularly.
Make an appointment with your librarian Mrs. Bland when a project or assignment starts to feel overwhelming.

Diversify your reading life. Ask us for recommendations.
Consider multiple perspectives when researching a topic.
FAQ
How do I check out a book, and how many can I have?
Use your student ID to check out a book with library staff. If you don't have your ID, we can look up your account using your ID number or last name. You may borrow up to 5 books at a time and keep them for 3 weeks. To become an avid reader, you need to have several good options nearby!
Do you charge overdue fines?
No, we do not charge late fees and due date reminders are sent regularly via school email.
What happens if I lose a book?
In case of loss or damage, please talk to library staff right away so we can brainstorm together how you can replace the copy in an efficient and inexpensive way.
Can I eat in the library?
No cafeteria food or outside vendor food is allowed during the day. Keep your drinks capped please, and let us know right away when spills happen.
Can I print in the library?
Yes! We have a printer available for student use. It is located in the front corner of the library near Mrs. Kautz's office. We can teach you to print, help format, and troubleshoot for you.
