Meet the Team
Varsity Team- Golden Gators
Sydney Blake - Senior
My name is Sydney Blake and I am a senior at Crystal Lake South. This is my second year with FTC but I have been apart of many other STEM related activities through South. I enjoy being involved in NHS, GEMS, Tennis, Track and Field, German Club and much more. I am excited to be a member of our robotics team and I look forward to a great season.
Armin Daneshbodi - Senior
My name is Armin Daneshbodi. I'm a senior at CLS. This is my third year on the Robotics Team, and I'm so excited to see and be a part of what our team creates this season! In my free time, I read about science, program, play soccer, play basketball, and do other things as well. I'm involved in my school groups and organizations, such as Math Team, Wyse, Intramural Basketball, German Club, and more.
Eric Houston - Senior
At South, I participate in Spanish Club, French Club, Scholastic Bowl, and of course Robotics. This is my second year in FIRST. I've taken PLTW courses freshman and sophomore, and junior year, and I'm taking my third one this year. Outside of school, I spend my time playing in Boy Scouts, building Legos, or playing baseball.
Quentin Hughes - Senior
I joined Robotics two years with my friend Matt. At first, we didn't really know how to help because we were so new, but by the end of the year, we found our place on the team. We helped build and design parts of the robot and even became the drivers for competition. This year we recruited some more friends to the team and it has expanded greatly, and Matt and I have taken a more front seat role now that we have experience. My main focus this year has been on the programming of the robot and the autonomous period while also helping build and design where I can. I'm really excited about this year and I'm sure it will our best one yet.
Matt Karolczuk - Senior
This is my third year participating in the First Robotics challenge and i'm enjoying everything about it. I joined two years ago with my friend Quentin and it was hard to find where we fit, but by the end of the year we started driving the robot and found our place. We mostly watched the seniors and tried to learn from their techniques and strategies, and from that i think we are more prepared and can now give our input to the team. It can be hard to share your thoughts and ideas with the whole group, but i feel more comfortable now more than ever as a member of this team.
Cassie Rausch - Senior
My name is Cassie Rausch and this is my fourth year on this robotics team, but I have been going to competitions for the past seven years. I am a senior at Crystal Lake South High School and my favorite subjects are culinary, physics, art, and biology. I am also involved with WYSE, FCCLA/culinary club, NHS, Science Olympiad, and tennis after school.
Adam Siudyla - Senior
This is my second year on the robotics and I mainly work on code. I am also part of Spanish club and I graduated Polish school after 12 years. I joined robotics because of my friends and I thought that I would be of good help for the team.
Danny Ciezadlo - Senior
I am a part of Robotics, Varsity soccer, Math team, SALT, Gator link crew, and Spanish club. This is my second year in robotics and I am enjoying it very much. I was inspired to join this club by the coach of the club, Mrs. Koch and my friends that are in the club.
Elijah Gurevich - Senior
This is my second year on the robotics team and I have loved this whole event more since last year. I am apart of Key club, Spanish club. I am very intrigued by the whole process of making a robot. I joined this team because of how much i loved it last year and my friends and Mrs. Koch inspiring me to join it again.
Alex Tatum - Senior
This is my first year in Crystal Lake South Robotics. I help out with outreach on the team. Along with robotics, I'm the alternate captain on varsity for hockey and I am a part of SALT. I was inspired by Mrs. Koch and my love of hands on work to join the robotics team. I enjoy problem solving and the teamwork involved within this team.
