Study Strategies

Below are a list of study strategies that students can employ when taking a test. Although this list is not exhaustive, it is a good place to start.

· Flashcards for key terms (vocab, lit terms, characters, etc.)

· Rereading and highlighting study guides

· Partner studying (ask someone to read questions aloud for you to answer using study guides)

· Two column notes (one side terms, other side definitions)

· Writing your own test questions

· Using Quizlet to create test questions

· Rereading all or part of stories

· Reviewing charts/activities completed in class

· Rewriting or typing class notes

· Creating a master study guide (from all class activities and study guides)

· Writing questions that you have and asking us or your resource teachers for the answers

· Begin studying when we give you the test study guide

· Pay attention in class when we give test hints and highlight those hints to review later
