Population: 400
Established in early 1800’s
Time of year: Early Summer, 2018
Setting: Rockshore is a small town split into two different sections. There is an east side and a west side that is split by a downtown. The town is located on the lake the size of Lake Michigan. There are no other towns near Rockshore. The east side is made up of woodsy earthy cabins. The people on the eastside rely on fishing for their industry and rarely go into the downtown. The west side is modern mixed with Victorian style design architecture.
Conflict: The East and West siders do not get a long. It is possible they do not get along because the east side values tradition, history, and the earth, and the east siders do not want to modernize. They do not want technology advancements and appreciate what the earth has to provide for them. The west siders value modernization and technology. The east siders and west siders both go into the downtown as they own it equally, but they do not venture off into the other parts of town that are not their own.
One day, Tuesday June 5, a body washes up on the shore and the citizens are shocked. It is the Mayor’s body. The Mayor is Blake Taylor and is 53 years old with salt and pepper colored short hair. There are bruises around his neck and he is clutching a bag with a business name on it but the police will not divulge the business name. The Mayor is the one person in Rockshore that has been able to maintain some peace between the two sides over the years. His family had started the town. Suddenly everyone in the town is on edge and super cautious. Who is the killer? The old man? The Butcher? Or your neighbor? It turns out everyone in the town has secrets they do not want to be exposed.
