Introduction to Guitar

Introduction to Guitar introduces students to the theory and mechanics of instrumental music. This course allows beginning music students the opportunity to learn the basics of playing and performing music on the acoustic guitar. In doing so, students gain an understanding of the basic fundamentals of music. Students learn how to read music, tablature, rhythms, and chord symbols. In addition, students will learn and practice various techniques, such as strumming and picking patterns, as well as how to play melodies on their own and in harmony with their peers. No prior experience is needed to enroll.
