Welcome to the Palmer Terror Community!

New Student Orientation at Palmer High School (PHS) is an amazing opportunity for incoming 9th grade students to experience what it truly means to be a Palmer Terror. Here, 9th grade students are not only able to build lasting relationships with those around them, but also lay the foundation of their high school journey at PHS. 

At Palmer High School, our New Student Orientation is facilitated through our Link Crew Program, which is built on the belief that students can help other students succeed. Here, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Link Crew Leaders serve as mentors for all 9th grade students and help them discover what it takes to be successful at PHS.

Each new 9th grade student during New Student Orientation will be placed in a group of 10-12 other incoming students, with 3-4 Link Crew leaders being their mentors! Our student leaders come from a variety of groups across Palmer and have prepared a safe, fun and informative program for all incoming students to enjoy. We cannot wait to for you experience it!!

Link Crew is also a year long transition program with four components that contribute to its success:

• New Student Orientation - Link Leaders and new students start building the mentor relationship and new students receive information about how to be successful in high school.

• Academic Follow Ups - Link Leaders support new student academic success and character development through structured group sessions.

• Social Follow Ups - Link Leaders and new students connect outside the classroom at school planned events to increase student engagement and promote a positive school climate.

• Leader Initiated Contacts - Link Leaders connect with their new 9th grade students on a more individual basis.
