When arriving to the theater, there was a buzz in the air and a sense of pride gleaming from all who were involved. The front of house experience excelled in so many ways including their sense of care and attention to detail. They even had a wall of printed out head shots and pictures of all front and back of house, performers and pit orchestra and crew members and each had wonderful comments surrounding them all. They welcomed us in and we were able to see an incredible display board that they had put together of their concept for the show and how they designed each element of the show. They had people ushering in correct time period attire that helped add to the atmosphere of the show before it even began. Luckily, they were able to find a couple extra programs at the end for us to take home. All elements of the show were well thought out and they used all of their resources very well. The sets and stage were believable and transitions were almost seamless. Anticipating lighting cues is an area that could be improved upon to keep up with the tempo of the music, but overall this performance was cohesive and executed brilliantly. From the front of house, to the talented orchestra, to the invested performers on stage and committed crew members backstage, it is clear that this theater department values integrity, creative collaboration and knows how important it is to take pride in your role to create something beautiful. This show was a great choice for your school and the amount of hard work and heartfelt community that you have built was palpable.
