Three students from each elementary school have been nominated for The District 11 elementary honor choir! The world-renowned clinician for this concert is Dr. Lynn Brinckmeyer from Texas State University and the Hill Country Children’s Chorus. Children get to rehearse and perform with students from across the district, as well as with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic orchestra. This is a special opportunity that children have earned through hard work, experience, and positive behavior in music class. 

The commitment for this choir includes two after-school rehearsals, a half-day rehearsal in the afternoon, a rehearsal on the day of the performance, as well as the performance itself. BOE Performance, One Last Hurrah!

Dear Honor Choir Families,

We are excited to invite our D11 Elementary Honor Choir students to take part in “One Last Hurrah”, a special encore performance celebrating their hard work and dedication this season!

Event Details:

🎵 Performance Time: 5:00 – 5:30 p.m.

👕 Attire: D11 Honor Choir T-Shirt and Jeans

As part of this performance, we will premiere the video of our commissioned piece recorded at the Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Following the video, students will perform a selection of their Honor Choir pieces live before the November Board of Education meeting.

This special moment will also include recognition from our School Board members, who wish to personally thank our students for their commitment, artistry, and excellence in representing District 11 through music.
