March/April

Greetings Spark Families-

March: We are currently getting settled into third quarter with many fun and interesting activities. For math, we are diving into adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals through interactive whiteboards and Desmos math. The students are making good progress! For science we are currently exploring Newton’s three laws of motion through reading, discussions, and PHET simulations.

April: We all enjoyed our spring break and prepared for district and state testing. We will be continuing learning variables and will start negative numbers in the upcoming weeks. Students will be developing a solar system project in Discovery to showcase for our 4th quarter showcase. Details of the showcase will emailed near the end of April.

From Mrs. Stacy:

In Humanities class we are finishing up learning about Literary Elements and moving into writing their own short stories! Most students are writing personal narratives, ask your sixth grader what they are writing about.

Please note Mrs. Stacy and I will start reaching out next week to families of students that are missing a majority of their 3rd quarter work. You are able to check on your student’s assignment by logging into Schoology as a parent.
