Plagiarism

Plagiarism can be defined as the use of another person's ideas and/or words without giving credit to the source. Examples of when credit must be given may include, but are not limited to, ideas, opinions or theories of another, anything that is not common knowledge such as facts, statistics, graphs and drawings, quotations of a person's writing or spoken words, and paraphrase of a person's writing or spoken words.

Consequences will be determined by the severity of the offense. These consequences may include, but are not limited to: loss of points, parent/teacher/student conference, referral or suspension.

Please note, enabling plagiarism by sharing work that intended to be copied (giving another student an essay that you wrote so they could turn it in as their own) also falls under the consequeneces listed above.
